A Neighbor Who Will Fight for Our Kids — Not a Career Politician

I'm Jeanine Adams, and I'm running for Kern County Board of Education, Trustee Area 7, because our kids deserve a board member who shows up, listens, and puts them first — every time.

I've lived the East Kern life for years now, and I know this district isn't one community — it's seven of them, stretching from the mountain towns of Tehachapi, Golden Hills, Bear Valley Springs, and Stallion Springs, to the high desert of Ridgecrest and China Lake, to Mojave, Boron, and California City, to the military families of Edwards Air Force Base, and out to Caliente, South Kern, and the Frazier Park–Lebec area. Different towns, different challenges — but the same parents wanting the same thing: schools that work for their children.

Before I ever thought about running for office, I spent 25-plus years doing the kind of work that teaches you how to actually get things done. I served as an Appraiser II with the Kern County Assessor-Recorder's Office, where accuracy and accountability to the public weren't optional — they were the job. I served as a trustee on the board of the Kern County Employees' Retirement Association, overseeing a pension system that thousands of families depend on. Earlier in my career, I held a California real estate broker's license and worked in real estate sales, and I managed office operations and HR for a national commercial real estate firm and ran retail banking operations for a regional bank. I earned my B.S. in Organizational Management, cum laude, from the University of La Verne.

None of that is a political résumé. It's a résumé of showing up, managing budgets responsibly, and being accountable to the people I served. That's exactly what I intend to bring to this board.

This isn't abstract for me. I'm a mother of two — my daughter is a Nurse Practitioner and my son is public school teacher, so I don't just hear about the pressures our educators face, I hear about them at my own kitchen table. I'm a longtime advocate for special needs children and their families, because I've seen firsthand how much it matters when a district gets that right — and how much a family suffers when it doesn't. And I've spent years in the quiet work of helping neighbors in our community who are struggling.

I'm running because I believe our schools should be about educating children — not about ideological battles that pull our attention away from the classroom. I believe every one of our seven districts deserves a trustee who will actually get out to their community, not just represent the loudest zip code. And I believe taxpayers in Area 7 deserve a board member who treats every dollar as if it were her own — because for 25 years, that's exactly how I've operated.

Protect our schools. Protect our taxpayers. Keep our focus where it belongs: on educating our children.
